A moment in time at the fair

A moment in time at the fair
AHH! I was super scared. People all around me were screaming as loud as a train's horn! My friend Beth and I were on a roller coaster at the fair. My throat was super sore from screaming very loudly. Oh no! Here comes the big loop. I locked my eyes shut and hope for the best. Finally, the cart came to the end of the roller coaster and Beth and I hopped out. I was so glad the ride was finished. I am definitely not going on a roller coaster again.

“Let’s go and get an ice-cream.” suggested Beth.

“Okay.” I agree.

After our ice-creams, we decided to have a walk around and see if there was anything else that we wanted to do before we had to go home.  A little way down the path, there was a bunch of fun games. I decided to play one where you had to try and throw a hoop over a cone and you had 10 chances to get as many points as you could. I got 7 points and I won a bubble wand while Beth got 9 points and won a cute panda stationery set.

Then we decided that we should go and get something to drink so we wandered off to a lemonade stand and found a nice place to drink our icy treats. As the sun began to sink below the horizon, Beth and I exited the fairground and started to walk the long, long, long way home.

Life Education!

Life Education
Recently, we have been to Life Education. Life Education is like a mobile classroom were Harold the giraffe lives. At Life Ed, we learned about how we can keep ourselves healthy. We looked inside the digestive system and we talked about all the main parts like the oesophagus, the stomach, the small intestine, and the large intestine. We learned about the gastric acid that breaks down all your food. We also learned that the small intestine is about the width of you pinkie finger and the large intestine is about the width of your fist.

On the second day that we went to Life Ed, we learned about kindness and how important it is in our lives. We learned about the difference between bullying and being unkind. Bullying is being mean and unkind repeatedly and being unkind is just for one day.

Have you ever been to Life Education? If you have, did you enjoy it?

Mindfulness PBL

Project Based Learning
This year we have been doing Project Based Learning. Our main question was: How can we use our hands, heart and head to create a healthier me? The topics that we could choose from to do our research on were mindfulness, nutrition, brain science and physical activity. Me and my friend Beth chose to do a mindfulness project together. Our question was: How does mindfulness affect our daily lives? First, we made an action plan to plan how we would investigate our question. Then we researched our question and made a slide with our answer to our question. Here is our slide.

Last week, we presented our PBL to our parents. We got lots of great feedback from the parents that watched our presentation. I enjoyed presenting my PBL to the parents.

What do you think of my PBL? I hope you enjoyed it!
